Dejito qualifies for National Schools Press Conference 2012

A campus journalist from TCES SPED Center won first place in Newswriting-English category during the Regional Elementary Schools Press Conference held at Kingking, Pantukan, Compostela Valley on December 9-11, 2011.

Johanna Vaughn O. Dejito, a grade six FL pupil is one of the three news writers who will represent Region XI to the National Schools Press Conference at Palawan in April 2012.

During the Regional Schools Press Conference, six sother campus journalists competed since they were qualifiers during the Division Schools Press Conference.

They were Aira Djohannmi H. Burgonio (3^rd place Editorial Cartooning English), A’eanie Henrich A. Tan (4^th place Photojournalism-Filipino), Junalyn May Capricho (5^th place Copyreading and Headline Writing),  Dana Mikaela D. Sarcos(5^thplace Sportswriting English), Ella Mae G. Bargayo ( 1st place Photojournalism - Filipino) and Al Wilkins Burgos (4th place sports balita). 

They were coached by Teacher Eliza E. Valmorida, Teacher Janice C. Abrea, Teacher Scarlet Divina R. Rivera and Teacher Mirasol N. Pantojan. JCA   

SPED Tugbok reaps victory in Regional Fun Day

The school participated and reaped numerous awards during the 12^th Regional Fun Day held at Magugpo Pilot Central Elementary School, Tagum City on December 2-4, 2011.

For the FL category, delegates from the school composed of Johanna Vaughn Dejito and Honey Grace Cape were champions for the Battle of the Brain Level II, they were coached by Teacher Vi-cherry U. Ledesma.

Two SPEDERs also won as champion and 1^st runner-up respectively in the On The Spot Painting Contest Level I, they were Hannah Erika Gerones and Aira Djohannmi Burgonio. They were coached by Teacher Hornel Aboy.

“I’m happy with the achievement of our pupils, they are making our division truly proud,”

commented the School Principal Amelyn T. Goniabo.

The Special class headed by Teacher Elena Maxey, Teacher Lydia Piamonte, Teacher Marialus Dalagan and Teacher Jenelyn Revilla also won several awards in a separate category.

Davao City delegation was declared as the over-all champion in the said activity. JCA

Ledesma, Maxey wins Regional Award for Most Outstanding SPED Teacher

Two SPED teachers were awarded as national finalist  for the Most Outstanding SPED Teacher during the National Conference for Special Education Teachers on December 6-8, 2011 at the Cebu Business Hotel, Cebu City.

Teacher Vi-cherry U. Ledesma, won as the national finalist for the Gifted and Talented category while Teacher Elena Maxey was recognized as winner for the intellectually-disabled (ID) category.

“Teacher Elena and I are very proud with this achievement, we dedicate it to our pupils who bring out the best in us as teachers,”  said Teacher Vi-cherry during an interview.

Teacher Vi-cherry is a grade six adviser of the FL class. She is also the science and math teacher who advocates environmental preservation through tree planting and tree caring activities, and garbage segregation.

Teacher Elena Maxey is a Special Class adviser handling the intellectually-disabled (ID) who has dedicated her service in the SPED class for seven years now. JCA

TCES HOLDS READING MONTH CULMINATION

Tugbok Central Elementary School SPED Center held the Reading Month Culminating Activity last November 25, 2011.

This activity, headed by the School Reading Coordinator, Ms. Lydia Piamonte, was held in support of the ten-point Basic Education Agenda of the Aquino Administration and the Department of  Education’s Every Child A Reader  Program (ECARP).

The school Principal, Mrs. Amelyn T. Goniabo, in her open remarks said, “You children should value the habit of reading because it will bring you success in the future.”

Several presentations that highlight reading were showcased. It includes Oral Reading Interpretation by Keziah Alagban of Grade IV regular class, and Reading Aloud by Andrea Bernadette Besario and Isabella Gingging of the grade IV FL class.

Children were asked comprehension questions based on the stories read. They raced to answer these questions since special prizes were given as a reward.

The grade II FL class also presented a Reader’s Theater, Ella Mae Bargayo read a story and while Kent Lawrence Villacorte of grade II FL class did a storytelling. Generose Yarte of grade VI regular class read a story in Filipino, in addition, three grade VI FL class students namely Faye Allen Matas, Joshue Leoj Panes and Drew Kayla Baysa read a story.

Many children enjoyed  fun-filled reading activities such as the word factory led by Mrs. Myrna Sobrecarey.

At the end of the program, children wore happy faces as they earned a new appreciation for reading. LYDIA PIAMONTE (School Reading Coordinator)
